The Government Multispeciality Veterinary Hospital, Kudappankkunnu, Thiruvananthapuram, started operations in September 2018. This institution is a proud project of the Department of Animal Husbandry and is the only existing multispecialty veterinary hospital in Kerala. This hospital deserves to be described as the last refuge for pets. The hospital is equipped with modern facilities like X-ray, ECG, ultrasound scanning, lab systems, a dialysis unit, three operation theatres, and a gas anesthesia workstation. Steps are being taken at the government level to upgrade this hospital to a super-specialty level.

Objectives
The main objective is to provide high-quality veterinary health care services to livestock and companion animals with state-of-the-art facilities in the government sector.
Activities of the institution
Acting as a referral hospital, this institution receives a large number of cases from within Thiruvananthapuram district, from other districts, and sometimes even from outside the state. Performing 15 to 40 major surgeries and 30 to 100 minor surgeries per month, this facility is equipped with modern facilities like X-ray, ECG, ultrasound scanning, lab systems, a dialysis unit, three operation theatres, and a gas anesthesia workstation.

The institution is headed by the Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry and is under the direct control of the Director of Animal Husbandry.
